RULES FOR THE WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT
1. This tournament will be governed by the USBC rules, MTCUSBC bylaws, and as hereafter set forth.
2. a. Only Female members of the Massachusetts Tri-County USBC (per USBC National rules) may participate in this tournament. Members of
another association who are current members of the MTCUSBC may enter this tournament only if they have bowled 21 or more games in a
MTCUSBC league.
b. Entry into the 500 Club tournament requires local or national membership in the respective 500 Club (Local lifetime membership - $3.00,
National lifetime membership - $15). Entry into the 600 Club tournament requires membership in the national 600 Club (Lifetime
membership - $15)
3. No more than one individual who is a member of, or have applied for membership to, a bowling organization identified as "professional"
as of date of participation in this tournament may compete on the same doubles team.
4. Multiple participation is allowed in this event. Participants may enter this tournament with as many doubles as they wish, however bowlers may
place on the prize list only once with the same partner wherever qualified.
5. Minor events are the 500 and 600 Club In-League Tournament entries. Scores bowled during the doubles tournament will be used. Bowlers

may enter in both the 500 Club and 600 Club tournament with the same scores, however separate entry fee is required. Scores in the Tournament will be combined with the in-league portion of the tournament to determine winners.

6. Multiple participation is allowed in minor events, The individual may be listed on the singles prize list only once.
7. SQUADS: There are two squads each day. Lanes will NOT be re-oiled between squads. There will be 10 minutes of practice. Bowling squad
times are 1:00PM & 3:00PM.
8. Re-entries are allowed subject to lane availability and will not be accepted within 30 minutes of squad start time.
9. Prize fees returned 100 percent; 66 2/3% percent to handicap, 33 1/3% percent to scratch for each division. Prize ratio is 1 in 8 in aggregate.
Bowlers qualifying for both handicap and scratch prizes will be awarded the greater amount. If amounts are the same on both prize lists,
bowlers will be placed on the handicap prize list. 500 Club and 600 Club Scores in the Tournament will be combined with the in-league portion
of the tournament to determine winners.
10. DIVISIONS: WOMEN’S: Scratch/Handicap divisions for two classes (330 & over & 329 and under) for doubles.

500 Club: Handicap division only.
600 Club: Handicap division only.

Divisions will use the sum of averages to determine divisions.
11. Awards/Plaques: WOMEN’S: to the women’s team with the highest team score w/hdcp across classes
12. ENTERING AVERAGES: (Averages are assigned in order based on the criteria below. Averages are the highest regardless of hand used or
multiple abilities, bowlers receive only one average for the tournament) All sport/challenge averages will be converted per USBC conversions.
1-.Entrants will use the highest of their MTCUSBC winter and summer league averages, based on at least 21 games for the 24–25 season.
If none, then the highest USBC average of at least 21 games for the 24-25 season. NOTE: 10 pin-rule is in effect: If the current MTCUSBC
league average based on 21 or more games as of January 1, 2026 is ten pins higher than the submitted average, then the current
MTCUSBC average will be used.
2- If there is no regular average based on 21 or more games for the 24-25 season, the highest current MTCUSBC average based on 21 games
or more as of January 1, 2026 shall be used.
3- All others will bowl with a scratch 240.
4- Tournament management reserves the right to rerate bowlers or assign averages when verifiable information is available.
13. It shall be the bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of his/her average whether originally submitted by the bowler, the team
captain or others. Failure to use the proper average shall disqualify handicapped scores if the submitted average is lower than the actual
average thereby resulting in more handicap. Prize winnings will be based on the submitted average if it is higher than the actual average.
Correction of average can be made up to the completion of the first game of the first series bowled in this tournament.
14. Each individual must check in at least 30 minutes prior to squad time and be prepared to show cards. Substitutions may be made at this time.
15. Handicap is based on 90 percent of 240 scratch with no maximum. (Three-game series method).
16. All participants must comply with USBC rule 319d and 319e
17. Entry must indicate 1st and 2nd choice of dates and squad time for each event. Entries & fees close February 10, 2026.
18. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST WEAR A COLLARED / MOCK COLLARED BOWLING LOGOED SHIRT (NO T-SHIRTS). FULL LENGTH
SLACKS, JEANS, SKIRTS OR NEAT DRESS SHORTS ARE PERMITTED (No sweats or athletic gear). HATS OR TORN JEANSWILL
NOT BE ALLOWED. NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES ALLOWED ON THE LANES.
