Ludlow Veterans Service Food Pantry Doubles Tournament
Tournament Rules
1. This tournament is a USBC certified tournament and is open to those current members of USBC.
2. DRESS CODE – All entrants must come neatly dressed in a bowling jersey, a lapelled collared shirt or a neat and
clean T–shirt, neat jeans/pants or knee length shorts/skirts. No profanity on clothing, no hats can be worn. No cell
phones, headphones, earbuds or electronic devices in the settee or on the lanes permitted.
3. Format: This is a doubles tournament. 3 games will be bowled by each partner in the doubles team.
Adult/Youth teams will be granted scholarship money to be held in SMART in the name of the youth
bowler. Over/Under 50 doubles will have two sets of standings kept: one for scratch and one for
handicap.
4. Averages: To be eligible for the handicap division, entrants will use their highest MTCUSBC yearbook
average from 2024-2025 based on at least 21 games (12 games for youth). Those without a 2024-2025
yearbook average may use their highest 2024-2025 average from USBC/online. Those without a verifiable
last year’s average, may use their current league average as of November 2, 2025 of 21 games or more (12
for youth). Sport/challenge averages will be converted following USBC conversions. All other must bowl
scratch. Misreporting or deliberately underreporting of averages will result in disqualification. Tournament
director reserves the right to rerate or assign averages based on information available.
5. Divisions:
a. Over/Under 50: there are two divisions. Scratch and handicap. All bowlers are automatically
entered into both Scratch and Handicap divisions and are eligible for only one prize (the
highest amount) in either division.
b. Adult/Youth: all doubles teams will be bowling in the handicap division only
6. Handicap: The handicap is 90% of 240 scratch
7. Rerate: The 10 pin rule is not in effect.
8. There are 4 squads
a. Saturday, November 15, 2025, 1:00pm
b. Saturday, November 15, 2025, 3:00pm
c. Sunday, November 16, 2025, 11:00am
d. Sunday, November 16, 2025, 1:00pm
9. Multiple participation is allowed, but each doubles pair is only allowed to cash once in the standings. For a
doubles team to be considered new, at least one bowler must be different.
10. Mail-in entries close November 2, 2025. Make checks payable to MTCUSBC Tournament Fund. Mail entries
to Heather Guzman, Tournament Director, 16 Griswold Circle, Granby, MA 01033
11. Walk-in entries are allowed up to 30 minutes prior to squad time subject to lane availability. NO CHECKS will
be accepted at the tournament site. Cash only.
12. Any disputes on rules or tournament operation will be decided by the Tournament Director or his/her
appointee. All decisions final.
13. Prizes: Prize fund will be returned 100%. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finishers of the scratch and
handicap divisions as follows:
Handicap: 1 in 10 entries will cash
Scratch: 1 in 15 entries will cash
14. Affiliation and participation fees may be paid by those non-USBC or non-MTCUSBC members wishing to join
USBC and MTCUSBC at a cost of $27.00. Local Association membership is $12.00.
